Grade 316 stainless steel coil is the most widely used variety of stainless steel after Grade 304. Due to the addition of 2% to 3% molybdenum (Mo), it offers corrosion resistance—particularly against chloride pitting (such as that caused by seawater, table salt, and chemical solvents)—that is far superior to that of Grade 304.
